Extension of the Usingen earth station

The task: The existing central building of the Usingen earth station was to be extended by a multi-storey office and technical building. The special challenge here was to ensure a settlement-free foundation on a highly installed building ground with supply lines to the individual buildings.

The implementation: We erected the extension building with large ceiling spans for the new broadcasting control room and computer centre areas on a reinforced concrete beam grid on pile foundations. Modern office space for the staff was created on the first floor.
